The Parish of Sandal Magna

Advent & Christmas Thanks

Where do you begin? So many people were involved in a wonderful Advent and Christmas season. Many thanks go to:

Anne and Janet and all the Oasis team for a lovely Holiday at Home for Seniors at St Paul’s;
all those who decorated both Churches so beautifully;
Cath and all the staff and volunteers at The Spring who served so many delicious Turkey dinners. One helper said that they had prepared 4,000 Brussel Sprouts! It was also good to have a pause for reflection every day throughout Advent;
Sarah and all those who prepared and delivered over 60 hampers to our precious Christians against Poverty clients, and to Pam & John and all who helped deliver 20 hampers to people in the parish.
those who served at the Toddlin and Boogie Woogie Tots services in both churches;
Derek, Andrea and the choir, and Richard, Mark and the Music Group and all the readers, for their beautiful morning and evening Carols by Candlelight;
Sally and Mark for creating and playing in 6 services for different year groups of Sandal Castle and Walton Academy Primaries at both churches;
Angie, Les and Marie for preparing the ingredients for over 100 children to make Christingles on Christmas Eve, and to Rachel and the team involved in the worship;
all those involved in our Midnight Communion and Christmas Day services;
any whom I have inadvertently left out of this thank you list!
Special thanks go to Sally Martin for co-ordinating 12 different worship services in two weeks! and to Mark Taylor who took leave off work to play with such skill and vigour in most of these.
In all over 3,000 people of all ages were blessed by these various ministries of giving and worship.
We give thanks and praise to God for the blessing of this season when we are privileged to bring a reminder to many of the good news of Jesus Christ who can transform our lives with the love and grace of God. Rupert
