The Parish of Sandal Magna

Parish Worship Pattern

We have six regular worship opportunities.

During August we have two worship services: 9.15am at St. Helen's and 11am at St. Paul's, Walton. Everyone is welcome!

Sunday 9.15am, St Helen's
This is a traditional service with hymns every Sunday, and a Choir every fortnight. Holy communion is celebrated three times a month, and Morning prayer once a month. The liturgy is mainly from Common Worship, but on the 3rd Sunday of the month we use the Book of Common Prayer.

Sunday 10.45am, St Helen's
This is a contemporary service with a music group. The style is informal and relaxed with Holy Communion once a month. There are groups for children.

In both these services, the sermons are often illustrated with visuals on the screens on either side of the central arch.

Sunday 11.00am, St Paul's
A traditional, relaxed service drawn mainly from Common Worship, alternating between Morning Praise and Holy Communion.

In all three Sunday morning services we offer prayer ministry after the service, and refreshments in the Emmaus Rooms at St Helen's, and the Barnabas Rooms at St Paul's.

Sunday 4.00pm Families@4, St Helen's. Every month on the 2nd Sunday, we cater for families at a convenient time, beginning with Tea, sandwiches and cake at 4pm in the Emmaus Rooms, followed at 4.40pm, by 40 minutes of lively, creative and interactive worship involving both children and parents.

Sunday 6.00pm Soul Space St Paul's
Twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Sundays, we open the green side door and hold a quiet hour in the Waterton Chapel, for those who simply want some space for quiet reflection.

Wednesday 11.30am St Helen's
This weekly midweek Communion is much appreciated by those who can't make the 9.15am service on Sunday. The service lasts 30 minutes.
