Christians Against Poverty

Since Christians Against Poverty started helping people out of debt in 1996, we’ve helped thousands of people through our professional service offered by around 300 CAP Debt Centres, over 150 CAP Job Clubs and around 80 CAP Fresh Start Groups. We also run over 800 CAP money courses with thousands attending every year.

St Helen’s Church runs a CAP Debt Centre, and CAP Money courses.

CAP Debt Centre

If you are feeling weighed down by debt, then we can help. You may think your situation is impossible, but there is hope. Our friendly team will give you a listening ear in the privacy of your own home and provide a real solution to your debts.

Wakefield is one of around 300 Centres throughout the country, which have helped over 45,000 people over the years to become debt-free. We opened the CAP Debt Centre at St Helen’s in 2012. The Centre is a churches together initiative, with staff and volunteers working together from numerous churches around the Wakefield area.

Nick Drayton is the Wakefield Centre Manager and Debt Coach. Nick helps people who are struggling with debt. Nick is available to contact by telephone those seeking help who telephone the central helpline 0800 328 0006 or go online to www.capuk.org.

CAP Money

The CAP Money Course is a revolutionary money management course that teaches people budgeting skills and a simple, cash-based system that really works.

This course will help anyone to get more in control of their finances, so they can save, give and prevent debt.

We run regular CAP Money courses at The Spring, our community cafe and shop. For details of your nearest CAP Money course please visit www.capmoney.org
